Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for Environmental Healthy Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S) Compliance at assigned locations Recognize safety hazards or unsafe work practices and develop Corrective Action Plans Complete Environmental Observations at assigned locations Must be willing to spend a considerable amount of time in the field identifying potential issues through frequent observation and soliciting individual input at the work area to verify root cause Routinely inspect plant equipment and activities for safe processes Work alongside managers and employees on EHS&S issues Assist managers with various EHS&S and production related projects, as needed Assist in coordinating, planning and facilitating training seminars Educate staff via weekly safety trainings Weekly coaching on Lockout Tagout and procedural audits Prepare and submit all required reports to Oldcastle or applicable agency Attend monthly safety committee meetings Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed Requirements / Education / Experience High school degree required; Associates Degree preferred Minimum 3 years' Experience with Safety Programs and Compliance Working knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations OSHA 10 in General Industry/ OSHA 30 Preferred Ability to read and interpret instructions and operations manuals and follow step by step instructions Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite Detail-oriented Good verbal, written communications and presentations skills Physical Environment The employee will be required to stand for extended periods of time The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 65 lbs. from the ground level.
