Job Description The Senior Director of Accounting is responsible for performing complex accounting, finance, payroll and procedural work in the accounting functions of CAF. This will include leading the Accounting team in the accurate and timely reporting of financial information, up to and including monthly financial statements and the year-end audit. This position will also act as back-up to the COO as required.
Key Responsibilities Accumulate and consolidate all financial data necessary for the preparation of monthly financial statements, including presentation of variance analysis; Maintain systematic records of all foundation business transactions, ensuring all revenue and expenditures are appropriately recorded and allocated by specific program; Track and manage all state, local and federal tax requirements;  Monitor all donations and record all deposits; Manage cash flow and cash positions in multiple bank accounts; Support and contribute to the ongoing development of accounting systems and processes to enhance management reporting and budgeting processes; Oversee monthly bank and credit card reconciliations; Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and once approved, work to implement the budgets including budget analysis; Manage benefit reporting including health insurance, life insurance, STD and LTD; Keep payroll records up to date and oversee third-party payroll processing bimonthly; Track paid time off accrual and usage; Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable including check processing and invoicing; Develop and maintain accounting best-practice policies and procedures; Prepare workpapers and reports for auditors and coordinate year-end audit; Assist in the development and implementation of system controls where necessary; Complete special projects and analysis for management as assigned by COO; Other duties as required. Position Requirements A minimum of 5+ years experience in detailed accounting work Bachelor's Degree required (Accounting Degree preferred) CPA preferred Nonprofit accounting experience Advanced proficiency in Quickbooks Online Strong proficiency in GSuite platforms, especially on Mac OS. Experience preferred in Salesforce, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Ability to work virtually Essential Traits Excellent verbal and written communication skills Work collaboratively with business partners Innovative, adaptive, capable of responding to changing environment and emerging challenges Willingness to engage in continuous learning and training A passion for food systems and a strong interest in childhood health and wellness Compensation Compensation ranges between $90,300 - $121,275 per year and will be commensurate with the candidate's previous experience and credentials.
