Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Designer to join our Earth Sciences and Engineering group, supporting the Civil Site Development team in North America. By using the latest computer modeling systems and software packages, our design engineers and CAD specialists deliver state-of-the-art design using data-centric architecture. Such computer programs include OpenRoads Designer and Civil 3D.This position will be based out of Pittsburgh, PA and will report to the USA Region Civil Lead.As the successful candidate, you will:Leading the civil design 3D modeling team through to completion of assigned projects in areas of bulk earthworks, grading, site drainage, mine and plant roads and earthen structures design.Be able to drive design phases and implement design standards on industrial and linear infrastructure projects of high complexityProviding specialty and technical guidance and mentoring to other technician/design staff to provide innovation while maintaining standards and procedure Review and prepare models and drawings and work together with Engineers to develop detailed drawings, quantities and various supporting documentsAssist with advanced CAD and BIM technology developmentYou bring to the role:Technical degree/diploma or equivalent in related fieldAbility to work by yourself and in teams, mentoring younger designersExtensive experience with 3D model development, completing design, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, annotating and drafting Excellent user of Civil3D software.Knowledge of the OpenRoads Designer ApplicationWorking knowledge of the OpenRoads Designer workspace configuration and be willing to deep dive into this to resolve our design team's configuration needsCoordinate on submittals for clients, governmental agencies, permitting agencies, etc. for reviews, approvals, and other milestonesExperience with quality control (QA/QC) of models and drawings for standards compliance, discipline coordinationPerforms complex design tasks on projects with understanding of multidisciplinary environment by collaborating with team members from other disciplines for necessary inputsKnowledge of software programs including Autodesk and Bentley products including but not limited to AutoCAD Civil 3D, lnfraworks, MicroStation, Inroads, OpenRoads and ProjectWiseExtensive experience in the related fieldEffective written and verbal communication skillsAble to work under and meet tight deadlinesPreferred, not required:3D design associated with Municipal Design work.Why join us?Work with great people to make a differenceCollaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutionsTop employer What we offer you?Flexible work environmentLong term career developmentThink globally, work locallyDon't meet every single requirement?
