We are seeking to hire a **Senior Buyer/Planner** to join our growing team based in Andover, MA, USA which is located about 30 minutes north of Boston.
The Senior Buyer/Planner will be responsible for purchasing, materials requirements planning, supplier relationship management, product life cycle and service design with the goal of achieving the best quantity and quality at the best value and delivering product to our customers in accordance with agreed upon schedule.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Facilitate process improvements in the requisition and procurement process to help reduce costs, lead times and improve purchasing efficiencies.
* Work across all departments processing requisitions for production and non-production supplies, equipment, and materials and placing purchase orders with approved suppliers.
* Manage safety stock of long lead, critical electrical components to assure availability for the production schedule and upside protection.
* Work with Engineering and Supply Chain to source and qualify second sources for critical materials, preparing RFQs, compiling responses and analyzing results for recommendations.
* Manage open order reporting and delivery commitments with Contract Manufacturers (CM).
* Assists CMs in sourcing material shortages to assure scheduled deliveries.
* Organize and process Return Materials Authorization (RMA) / Return to Vendor (RTV).
* Provide procurement support for new product development. Negotiate pricing and develop relationships with suppliers.
* Serve as back up for documentation control and will have dotted line responsibility to document control to support cost impact analysis and ECO phase in dates at contract manufacturers.
* Run and manage VMI Hardware Program for both Manufacturing and Engineering
* Expedite delivery of open purchase orders.
* Perform data entry of orders in MRP system.
* Work with Finance and Receiving departments to ensure POs are received in full and invoices match.
* Setup New Vendor Setup and maintenance.
* Setup New Part Number setup in Great Plains.
* Prepare for cleanup and in transit reporting of all outstanding PO lines at every EOQ for submission to Finance Department.
* Work with vendors to build relationships and establish processes for meeting all expectations.
* Provide Inventory Inquiry results to Engineering and PLM.
* Track Supplier Performance Metrics.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Purchasing or equivalent.
* Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) ? or American Purchasing Society Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) desirable.
* PMP Certification a plus.
* 5+ years of related purchasing experience.
* 2+ years of related experience including electronics manufacturing environment.
* Proficient experience using MS Office, Omnify Product Lifetime Management System, Microsoft Dynamics GP or equivalent ERP systems, Smartsheets, Power BI and MS Project.
* Professional level written and verbal communication skills.
