Job summary
Seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join the Finance/Accounting TeamResponsible for overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivableAssist CFO in financial statement preparation, tax preparation, and budgeting
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable staff• Develop processes and job responsibilities for accounts payable and accounts receivable staff• Assist CFO in preparation of financial statements, tax returns, and governmental agency reports• Work with Tax Accountant to assist with tax preparation for law firm• Assist in establishing financial goals and providing a strategy to achieve them• Prepare and implement budgets and establish priorities for each department• Assist with managing payroll, month end/year end close, and tax activities• Review planning process and suggest improvements• Monitor all financial transactions• Prepare ad hoc reports• Create methods and processes for tracking expenses• Analyze operations to identify inefficiencies and areas of need• Assist in devising strategies to save the firm money• Assist with preparing for executive meetings• Assist with other business-related projects
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years of leadership/management experience• Thorough knowledge of GAAP and accounting regulations• Tax experience preferred• Excellent management and supervisory skills• Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail• Proficient in Quick Books Online and other accounting computer application systems• Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office Suite• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Excellent time management and problem-solving skills• Mathematical and deductive reasoning abilities• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times• Must be able to access various departments of a given location
Key Skills Needed
