SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (Permanent)
Our client, a development organization in the city of Buffalo, NY, is looking to hire a Senior Accountant to join their growing team.
Responsibilities: Handle day-to-day financial operations Serve as Lead Accountant for all accounting and record keeping of the organization, including Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable functions Review monthly bank reconciliations prepared by accounting staff Prepare monthly payroll allocation entries in relation to grants activities Review and process loan packages, set up encumbrances in the system, certify the availability of funds for the encumbrance request, track and reconcile budget available balances Prepare & analyze financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries and prepare monthly variance/analysis reports Manage Monthly and Quarterly close processes, creating financial statements and reporting Monitor program requisitions and gather information for outside auditor requests for loan information Supervise and train staff who perform accounting functions Provide customer service to internal & external customers Communicate effectively with Senior Management to complete project cost reconciliations Other duties as assigned/as necessary
Details: Position is full time, direct hire 100% in office; standard 40-hour work week (8:30am-4:30pm Monday thru Friday with minimal overtime) Must live in the City of Buffalo or move to the city within 6 months of start date Up to $63,500 annually depending on experience Great benefits Minimum of Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred 3+ years non-profit or governmental accounting experience OR MBA with 1 year non-profit or governmental accounting experience highly preferred Excellent accounting and math skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel Strong organization skills and time management skills
