This is a hybrid role and can be based in Metairie or Baton Rouge, LA.
Position Summary As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our financial operations, particularly focusing on accounts receivable. This position involves critical responsibilities such as general ledger reconciliations, analyzing accounting data, and aiding in the monthly financial statement preparations.
Key Responsibilities Manage the entire billing process, from setup to adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Handle change orders and provide detailed financial analysis as necessary. Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable and the general ledger. Analyze the accounts receivable aging reports to assess financial health. Prepare and adjust general ledger journal entries as needed. Support the closure of monthly financial statements. Propose enhancements to accounting controls by recommending efficient policies and procedures. Maintain professional communication across all company levels. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 5-10 years of accounting experience in medium to large-sized organizations. Demonstrated expertise in billing processes. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A keen eye for detail and commitment to high-quality work in a dynamic environment. Knowledgeable about industry standards and competitive landscape. Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously and stepping beyond traditional responsibilities when needed. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in the construction industry or a similar contracting role is highly advantageous.
