Monday, April 15Zoey Kurka '24 and Grace Hill '24 Recital: 'Ouroboros'
7:30 p.m., H. F. Johnson Center for the Fine Arts
Zoey Kurka '24 will play Robert Schumann's "Fantasie-Stücke," while Grace Hill '24 will perform Claude Debussy's "Cello Sonata, L.135." The two will then perform Luigi Boccherini's "Sonata in C Major for Two Cellos." Following this, Jacob Kemp and Noah Wilson '24 will join them on stage to perform songs from their band, Churchmouse.
Thursday, April 18Yue Zhuo M.M. '24 Student Recital: 'Dream Unveiled' 7:30 p.m., Campbell Student Union Auditorium
Music Theatre Vocal Pedagogy graduate student Yue Zhuo M.M. '24 will present a recital focusing on her musical journey as a vocal student and music educator, as well as a mother. She is happy to share her unique connection with each piece through her voice and performance. The program will include: "If You Knew My Story" (Edi Brickell and Steve Martin), "A New Life" (Frank Wildhorn), "Sonya Alone" (Dave Malloy), "Happiness" (Stephen Sondheim), "Pretty Funny" (Benj Pasek and Justin Paul), "With One Look" (Andrew Lloyd Webber), and "Everything I Know" (Lin-Manuel Miranda).
Saturday, April 20 Dan Fang M.M. '24 Graduate Piano Recital
1 p.m., A. F. Siebert Chapel
Music student Dan Fang M.M. '24 will present a graduate piano recital focusing on several representative works from different periods, including the modern period, the Baroque period, the romantic period, and the classical period. The program will include: "Arabesque No.1, Op.61" (C.Chaminade), "Partita, No. 6 in E minor BWV830" (JS Bach), "Fantasie, Op 28" (Mendelssohn), and "Sonata No.8 in C minor, Op.13, Pathétique" (Beethoven). Essence Christian '25 Student Recital: 'Persistence' 2 p.m., H. F. Johnson Recital Hall
Vocal performance student Essence Christian '25 will present her junior recital featuring various works from composers such as: Scott Joplin, Johannes Brahms, Wolfgang Mozart, and George Frederic Handel. Essence has spent her junior year preparing for this recital and has dedicated it to all the hard work she has put in over the last three years.
