Overview: Egan Company is seeking Security Technicians for customer opportunities around the Greater Twin Cities area. This is a union position with top-rate wages, healthcare, retirement and vacation benefits. We are looking for independent, customer-service-oriented individuals who will consistently adhere to safety standards.
Responsibilities: The basic responsibilities of the Security Technician include but are not limited to the following:
Installation, service, or repair of specified Access, Security, and CCTV systems and peripheral devices
Programming various security systems – Lenel, S2, Sielox, Bosch experience is a plus
Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new equipment or system installation
Overcome challenges on retrofits and new installations
Train and instruct new users on a life safety equipment
Daily communication with the Project Manager
Completion of daily safety and additional documents
Position Requirements: High school diploma or GED required
Experience installing and programming Fire Alarm Systems
Valid MN Power Limited Technician license.
NICET Certification is preferred (we can assist you in attaining this certification)
Knowledge of current codes when applicable
Valid driver's license - travel between jobsites is required
3-year Limited Energy JATC training or equivalent in time worked in the industry
Current IBEW Member or willingness to join the local IBEW
Overtime may be required depending on the workload
Qualifications: Ability to read and mark up prints
Ability to lead and direct a team
Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time
Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team)
Ability to climb a ladder and work with heights
Highly motivated and ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Proficiency in using hand and power tools associated with the job in a safe manner
Good hand dexterity and strength
