Competitive pay + tips Mississippi Studios and Polaris Hall are looking for individuals to join our Security team. These positions provide one of the first and last experiences our guests have with our staff. This is a high energy job for someone who likes to be physically active and enjoys interacting with new folks every night. If you like people and live music than this is the job for you! We are looking for people with existing nightclub / event security experience, as well as folks looking to be more involved in the live music business.
Positions available offer part-time hours, based on our show calendar, usually 15-30 hours a week. Typical shifts will be evening focused between the hours of 5pm-2am, with some occasional weekend daytime shifts. Applicants must be available for weekend shifts.
Job Duties Include (but are not limited to)
Being genuinely nice and engaging with guests.
Greeting guests as they arrive.
Enforcing house policies (i.e. age limits, bag checks or capacity restrictions).
Monitoring guest behavior, and injecting yourself (when necessary) to maintain the safety or general vibe of the event. Your default should be nice and understanding but with the confidence to be able to enforce the rules in a firm, professional but pleasant way.
Assisting guests with finding seating, restrooms, beverages, food...etc.
Maintaining a standard of cleanliness within all common areas (which will involve daily, weekly, and monthly sidework).
Running food and beverages, busing tables
Adjusting auditorium layout for seated vs standing room shows
Setup and breakdown of house furniture and equipment for shows and events
Most importantly, ensuring all guests feel welcome and are ultimately able to have a good time while they are attending an event with us.
Compensation starts at $18/hr or DoE.
