Select Medical/NovaCare Rehabilitation is seeking a Secondary Medicare Account Representative to join their Outpatient Central Business Office located in Canonsburg, PA. This is a challenging and rewarding position for the professional who enjoys a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The Central Business Office (CBO) Secondary to Medicare Account Representative – will improve and maintain the overall performance of the collections departmental staff by providing detailed, consistent and ongoing training of expectations for both new and tenured staff assigned within the department. This position will contribute to positive outcomes and improved metrics that are beneficial and favorable to meet current and future needs of the CBO's annual business plan.

Basic understanding of Medicare claim processing procedures Investigate and follow-up on all open secondary claim balances when Traditional Medicare is the Primary or Secondary payer overdue for 60 days or more to determine reason for non-payment. Contact responsible party to establish reason for delinquency, document in system all verbal and written communication relative to overdue balance, and institute timely follow-up with responsible party as a result of last contact to assure progress in resolving account with payment. Make outgoing calls to patients and insurance companies regarding claim status in order to reduce both outstanding receivables and DSO Manage correspondence related to designated work load Address incoming center/field and patient inquiries as necessary promptly in accordance with departmental guidelines Identify and communicate all billing errors/issues or payer issues/problems to team lead and/or supervisor Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent. One year of customer service experience – Retail/Hospitality/Banking/Healthcare Preferred Qualifications: Computer Skills Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to work from multiple programs with dual monitors One year of experience in an office setting, medical environment preferred Computer skills, including Microsoft Office products, and familiarity with internet research Strong organization skills and the proven experience in the ability to problem solve. Adaptable, detail orientation and strong organization skills are preferred.
