Department of Secondary EducationPart-Time Lecturer PoolPOSITIONThe Department of Secondary Education at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool.We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced and student centered to teach in the Single-Subject Credential Program and Master's Program.This is a pool of part-time lecturers for the department to draw on as necessary. Qualified applicants will be contacted when positions are available.APPOINTMENTS FROM THE PART-TIME POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE ON VERY SHORT NOTICE. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMA or MS or Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education or related field (depending on the program)Min of three years' experience in teaching or working with children age 12-19 in diverse settingsCommitted to Just, Equitable, and Inclusive educationKnowledge of CSUF Single Subject Credential Program requirements (applicable to teaching courses in the credential program)Experience implementing culturally relevant pedagogiesDemonstrated ability to effectively work with students from intersecting historically marginalized social groups using innovative instructional approaches and methodsCommitted to ongoing professional development to maintain currency in the field, including effective use of technologyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSDemonstrated experience using anti-racist teaching and social justice pedagogies.Expertise in subject area disciplines and curriculum and instructionKnowledge of CA K-12 content standards for subject areasBilingual or Biliterate or have experience working with bilingual/biliterate studentsExperience supporting teachers, teacher candidates and/or new teachers.Knowledge of CCTC Teaching Performance Expectations (applicable to teaching courses in the credential program).Active in subject matter professional organizationsHOW TO APPLYA complete online application must be submitted in order to receive consideration. The strongest statement will look at the intersectionality of JEIE Social identity or marker.APPOINTMENT DATE AND ACADEMIC CALENDARThe need for part-time faculty is greatest in Fall and Spring semesters. The Fall term begins in the late August and ends in mid-December; the Spring term runs from the middle of January through the end of May. On rare occasions part-time faculty are needed during one of the Summer Session segments.PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONRegular performance evaluations of part-time lecturers are made by the department in accord with the faculty Collective Bargaining Agreement and University Policy Statement 210.070. These performance evaluations determine which lecturers will be retained for future and continued teaching assignments. And in some instances, syllabi, assignments and reading material will be reviewed by the departmental personnel committee.APPOINTMENT AND SALARYAll part-time faculty appointments are made as Lecturers, under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the California Faculty Association. Initial appointments are for one semester only.Classification Range: $4,530 - $6,056 per monthAnticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $5,405 per monthThe full-time (15 units per semester) monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the number of units worked and are paid in six monthly payments for each full semester. These are interdisciplinary programs that connect the three main elements of teaching (subject matter competency, pedagogical competency, and field experiences) through collaboration among the Department of Secondary Education, university academic departments and programs, and local school districts.
