Cashier/Crew Member - Spring/Summer 2024
This role will begin as a seasonal role and will begin training in the Spring and will end when our busy season ends (typically in October). Spring/Summer staff may be invited to stay on board during our slow season depending on the needs of the store at that time! Otherwise, seasonal staff that ends the season in good standing will be invited to come back again after the slow season, if desired. This role will function first and foremost as a cashier and cleaner/closer. Training on product prep and additional skills will begin based on the needs of the store, the proficiency of the team member, and the current staff mix.

~ We pay weekly by direct deposit (every Friday)
~ All hourly staff (non-manager/non-owner) will receive tips which are pooled and distributed on paychecks. Tips generally amount to $3-5/hr in addition to base pay.
~ Base pay will start at $12/hr and increase to $13/hr once independent as a cashier and demonstrating consistent reliability and adherence to store policies
~ Additional increases will come with learning additional skills!
~ Those over the age of 18 with the availability to open or close the store as well as proficiency in serving our customers will have opportunities to train for Shift Leadership positions!
Job Functions:
· Be an ambassador of the Dairy Queen brand and be professional in every aspect of performance
· Enthusiastically greet and welcome fans to the Dairy Queen brand
· Strive to exceed fan expectations and deliver fan first service through timely and quality service
· Quickly and accurately prepare menu items following restaurant, health, and safety standards
· Properly and safely operate and maintain restaurant equipment including cash registers, blenders, freezers, and other equipment
· Complete assigned preparation work for stocking and setting up work area
· Calmly solve fan concerns and embrace Dairy Queen's service recovery standards
· Be a willing team player and maintain a cooperative, harmonious working relationship with management and fellow team members
· Create and maintain a positive, safe, clean, and inviting environment for fans and team members
· At all times exhibit a genuine passion for excellence
· Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
· Communicate positively with fans and co-workers constantly during shifts
· Work well under pressure packed situations while maintaining a great attitude
· Comfortable standing for entire shift and able to lift 50 pounds
· Ability to handle frozen and cooked products as well as products in and out of the temperature danger zone (41-140F)
· Practice established food handling procedures and meet any local health regulations
· Exhibit good manners, proper personal hygiene, and promptness (reliably showing up for scheduled shifts)
· Have fun and maintain a positive attitude at all times!
