IPS conducts applied computational research in areas that include genomic, structural and molecular informatics, computational and systems biology, patient selection and translational biomarker research, and broader fields including knowledge science, epidemiology and machine learning—across the full lifecycle of drug discovery and development and across all therapeutic areas at BMS. You'll pursue innovative ideas while advancing professionally alongside some of the brightest minds in biopharma.Our focus within the Mechanisms of Cancer Resistance (MoCR) domain encompasses computational research across genomic, structural, and molecular informatics, as well as computational and systems biology, patient selection, translational biomarker research, and expanding fields such as knowledge science, epidemiology, and machine learning. This interdisciplinary effort spans the entire drug discovery and development lifecycle within the MoCR therapeutic area.By joining our team, you'll be at the forefront of applied computational research, contributing to advancing a rich pipeline of next-generation medicines to overcome cancer resistance mechanisms. You'll have the opportunity to grow and excel professionally in an environment that fosters innovation and collaboration.Key Responsibilities:• Develop hypotheses to stratify patients and prioritize indications, guiding drug mechanism research and clinical oncology development.• Analyze molecular, clinical, and demographic data using advanced computational and statistical methods to uncover disease mechanisms, predict drug responses, and anticipate adverse events.• Conduct comprehensive analyses across various omics datasets, including RNAseq, WES, TCRseq, ctDNA, CTC, as well as flow cytometry, cytokine profiling, IHC, proteomics, and other data types.• Craft and implement advanced analytical frameworks, integrating statistical techniques and visualization methods to interpret multi-dimensional biomarker data for novel insights.• Collaborate with the translational team and computational biologists, fostering synergy in research approach.• Provide computational biology insights, enriched with statistical analysis, to cross-functional teams, aiding strategic decision-making in drug development.• Present and document research findings and methodologies, incorporating analyses, to meet publication and peer review standards.Basic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in computational biology, human genetics, biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or related fields, with 5+ yearsOr Master's Degree in computational biology, human genetics, biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or related fields, with 3+ yearsOr Ph.D. in computational biology, human genetics, biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or related fields.Preferred Qualifications:Ph.D. in computational biology, human genetics, biostatistics, statistics, bioinformatics, or related fields.Minimum of 4 years of experience in the analysis, integration, and interpretation of high-throughput biological data substantiated by high-quality scientific publications.Advanced proficiency in statistical programming and data manipulation, using R/Bioconductor, Python, and other relevant statistical software.Demonstrable expertise in biostatistics, capable of applying various computational and statistical analysis methods to complex datasets.Experience with longitudinal data analysis, data deconvolution, machine learning techniques, and other advanced statistical methodologies.Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and high-performance computing platforms, including cloud computing and big data analytics platforms.A proven scientific problem-solver with a collaborative spirit, capable of contributing significantly beyond individual projects.Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex computational and statistical research findings to a multidisciplinary scientific team.If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn't perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
