Join our team and play a pivotal role in supporting vital environmental research and preservation efforts at the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL). This role offers a unique opportunity to enhance our understanding and conservation of the planet's oceans and atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and oversee budgeting, procurement, travel, and personnel actions.
Utilize and maintain business management systems for financial oversight and accounting.
Provide general accounting support and assist in operational and program tasks, including timekeeping.
Act as the point of contact for the PMEL's Director and Deputy Director, handling public affairs, phone communications, calendar management, visitor logistics, and other front desk duties.
Support acquisition preparation and documentation.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (equivalent experience may substitute).
At least 5 years of relevant administrative experience, preferably in a scientific or research setting.
Thorough knowledge of administrative procedures involving federal interagency agreements, contracts, security policies, and more.
Proven ability to stay updated on government policies and effectively collaborate with internal teams and external bodies like NOAA.
Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on stakeholder satisfaction.
Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with project management.
Familiarity with federal government administrative and financial systems.
Work Environment
Standard work hours, Monday through Friday.
Hybrid work setting with requirements to work onsite and remotely in Seattle, WA.
