Responsibilities
• Maintain and update sales tax records and files• Examine sales tax policies and handle sales tax payments and returns• Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger• Reconcile tax payments• Analyze transactions with internal and external stakeholders• Conduct month-end closures• Accrue the correct amount of sales tax• Prepare documents for audits• Advise staff on sales tax issues via email or phone• Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
Requirements
• Similar experience as a sales tax manager or analyst• Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; excellent with spreadsheets• Knowledge of an accounting information system is a plus• Confidentiality and integrity• Degree in Accounting; MSc is a plus
