At our organization, we're dedicated to making a difference in education. We're a leading nonprofit committed to empowering struggling learners through innovative literacy solutions. Our mission is to revolutionize education, helping students unlock their full potential, gain confidence, and excel in school and beyond.
Did you know that 65% of fourth graders read below proficiency levels, and they're 400% more likely to drop out of high school? This issue is even more pronounced among at-risk students, including those from marginalized communities. We're here to break this cycle by providing early assessment, intervention, and ongoing support to schools and educators. Our goal is to create a solid foundation for every learner, regardless of their background or learning differences.
Originally established in 1948 to support visually impaired veterans with audiobooks, we've evolved into a comprehensive education solutions provider. Today, we reach over 2.3 million students, 615,000 educators, and 23,000 schools nationwide. Collaborating with esteemed institutions like UCSF and MIT, we're constantly innovating to better understand and address learning challenges.
Join us in our mission to transform education. Our culture is built on innovation, professional growth, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
