Responsibilities
• Developing and conducting effective trainings on ES&S policies and procedures• Supporting emergency services volunteer efforts and fire prevention and response planning• Conducting inspections, investigating accidents, and notifying management of safety violations• Interpreting and applying applicable laws, codes, regulations, and guidelines• Preparing reports and working with staff and management to resolve ES&S issues• Assisting in the development of ES&S programs and policies• Performing environmental tests and risk assessments• May be responsible for overseeing safety education and training curriculum• May research, develop, and implement internal safety programs and policies• May supervise staff and prepare employee questions and feedback regarding health and safety
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or health, industrial hygiene, or closely related field• Three years of relevant experience• Strong presentation, communication, and technical writing skills• Ability to develop and implement policy, budgets, and long-term plans• Strong PC skills and knowledge of database management• Ability to collect and report data, multi-task, and prioritize projects• Knowledge of project management principles• Valid NM driver's license
