Job Description Safety Intern JOB DETAILS Base Pay: $20.00 per hour 1st Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Cornerstone Building Brands Internship Program is intended to expose high potential individuals to manufacturing systems and processes and will take place in various US locations. Interns will be working alongside Cornerstone employees on projects that will have a direct impact on the business. Cornerstone Building Brands is committed to the professional development of students selected in the program. Interns will be assigned to teams working on specific projects based on experience, academic background, and professional goals/interests.
Aide in the development of exercise programs for our employees Manage onsite physical therapists weekly scheduling and rescheduling Effectively promote health and safety programs for Production Associates Assist in injury prevention programs Maintain safety records and track incident corrective actions to completion Assist in incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective action development and follow-up for completion of action items Assist in conducting training for associates Complete safety audits Complete safety assessments Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships. Must be 18 years or older. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. High school diploma or equivalent is required. Actively pursuing an AA or BS in Environmental Health & Safety, Physical Therapy, or other related majors Experience with Office 365 software Work experience in warehouse or manufacturing sector is preferred Working hours are in a manufacturing environment. Physical labor, specifically standing for long periods of time. Additional time may be spent in the safety office processing paperwork and using computerized software.
