Scout is seeking a Safety Intern to join our team and assist in ensuring the safety of our employees and workplace, in our Boulder, CO office. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge of OSHA regulations, the ability to research safety questions as needed, and some experience with drafting and updating written safety policies.
The Safety Intern will collaborate with our Safety department to contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of various projects aimed at enhancing workplace safety and health, environmental compliance, and risk mitigation.
Responsibilities: Assist in investigating accidents and incidents to determine root cause and generate corrective actions. Assist in drafting and updating internal safety standards and policies. Research safety questions as needed. Identifying opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents, and health problems. Conduct employee training on applicable safety standards. Reviewing safety training and recommends revisions, improvements, and updates. Conducting safety inspections and audits to assess employee compliance with safety regulations. Reviewing accidents, near misses, and incidents reported by employees and visitors to the facility. Requirements Currently pursuing a degree in Risk Management or Occupational and Environmental Health & Safety Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations Ability to research safety questions as needed. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail Timeline and Location  This position will begin in May 2024. The internship will be a full-time (40 hr/week) commitment for the duration of the 12-week internship program. Our ideal candidate will be able to work out of our Boulder office during the duration of the internship program per the program requirements.
