Location – Remote – Must be located in the Pacific Region, highly prefer in the state of CA (WA,OR,ID,CA,NV,UT,AZ,AK,HI) Budget - $68,957 - $80,000 & benefits  JOB SUMMARY  The Safety Analyst plays a key role in achieving Boys & Girls Clubs of America's quality assurance goals of a maintaining safe, nurturing Boys & Girls Club environment while ensuring compliance to recognized safety standards. The Safety Analyst conducts annual organizational level and site level safety assessments regarding child and Club safety practices and procedures, policies and standards. The Safety Analyst also reviews policies and findings of other assessments and shares the finding of these analyses with staff and board members. The Safety Analyst will also work in partnership with other safety team members to ensure full support of member organizations in their efforts to maintain safe places for youth and teens.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Conduct annual organizational level and site level safety assessments to review child & Club safety and other relevant standards.
• Collect and review internal and external documentation in advance of all visits.
• Conduct opening meetings with organizational and/or Club representatives.
• Document all assessment findings, evaluate severity and recommend corrective actions in an accurate and timely manner.
• Communicate with CEOs, Board Chairs and Safety Committee chairs assessment results and recommendations.
• Detect issues or problems that will arise as a result of assessments and offer solutions to those problems.
• Provide policy interpretation and basic safety support services while onsite regarding facility operation, staffing and operational requirements.
• Ensure immediate triage and support is provided for any high-risk observations or findings.
• Assign appropriate remediation periods with a follow-up cadence and coordinate with Compliance as required.
• Facilitate follow up actions to address areas of non-compliance, including safety director involvement and/or peer consultations.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
• No direct reports. May monitor and coordinate the work of temporary employees and student interns.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in youth development, safety, risk management or related field
• 3-5 years' experience as an Analyst or similar position
• Experience in conducting onsite assessments
• Experience managing regional travel up to 75%
• Experience with Risk Management and Mitigation
• Knowledgeable in Abuse Prevention and/or Youth Services
• Experience with MS Word, Excel, Project Management and Analytics software
SKILLS
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation skills with the ability to provide effective training programs and safety related resources. Ability to negotiate with vendors for Movement-wide resources. Demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity. Ability to develop partnerships with related agencies. Excellent skills in monitoring, follow-up, and great attention to detail. Ability to collect, analyze data, and make decisions based on information. Demonstrates passion for child safety issues. Ability to be flexible and handle multiple tasks and projects at same time; adjust priorities based on need. Ability to work interdepartmentally to get results. Ability to influence others to make needed changes without having authority to mandate change. Ability to think conceptually and develop innovative solutions. Possess expert knowledge of risk management and control, premises liability, security, property hazards, sports and aquatic safety, emergency response planning/procedures, vehicular safety, bullying, and child abuse. Ability to effectively use technology while traveling.
ABILITIES
• Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for four plus hours per day. High energy level, comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Must have good reasoning abilities and sound judgment; skills essential for successful communications include speaking and writing.
ENVIRONMENTAL & WORKING CONDITIONS • Normal internal working environment.
• Travel estimated at 75%
• The individual selected for this position must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be able to navigate areas of the country by using a map or other direction methods.
