Description:
Assist Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) lead technician as directed to conduct underground utility surveys. - Maintain radar and excavation equipment and vehicle inventory. - Maintain records, prepared reports, and perform other functions as required. - Work hours/Schedule – flexible based on candidate, generally 7:30-4 pm - Very minimal overnight work, but when it is required, expenses are covered. Additional Skills & Qualifications:
At least 1 yr. experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering - Experience in operating and maintaining vacuum excavation equipment such as Vacmasters. - Must be able to work 40+ hours per week or as required. - As required, you must be physically able to work outdoors on all terrain and construction sites under all weather conditions. - Must be able to stand up to five hours at a time. - Knowledge of or ability to learn the principles and practices of land surveying. - Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to pass a driving record check. - Must be willing and able to travel for out-of-town assignments. - Ability to repetitively stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat, and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools, and boxes, and stand for long periods on varied surfaces. - Ability to apply knowledge of learned utility detection activities and techniques. - Ability to carry out written and oral directions. - Ability to communicate effectively with others. - Ability to maintain favorable public relations. - Ability to maintain records and prepare reports and correspondence related to the work. - Knowledge of or ability to learn the use of digital drawing instruments (Google Earth) - Knowledge of or ability to learn the symbols of drafting. - Knowledge of or ability to learn SUE instruments and equipment and their use and care.
