Responsibilities
• Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs• Coordinates patient care through collaboration with patient/family and healthcare team• Performs assessments and initiates appropriate protocols and standards of care• Administers medication and treatments as prescribed• Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs• Evaluates patient progression toward outcomes• Delegates or assigns aspects of patient care to healthcare team members• Provides leadership through communication and validation of patient care• Assists with procedures, treatments, and surgical techniques• Assists in orientation of new staff or students and serves as a resource person and professional role model
Requirements
• Degree from accredited academic nursing program• Minimum ADN preparation with expectation of BSN completion within 5 years of hire• 1.5 years of relevant experience• State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License or Graduate Nurse Permit required• BLS, ACLS, PALS certification within 90 days of hire• NRP, TNCC, ATCN certification preferred
