Description of Job DPO protects consumers in the state of Colorado through licensing and regulatory enforcement for approximately 50 professions, occupations, and businesses, and the regulatory environment. The work unit is reflective of organizational changes made in an effort to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency in board and program processes and elegance in the contributions of the Division of Professions and Occupations to the regulatory environment in our state.



Position : SJA 940


This position supports, coordinates, and addresses the needs of the Boards and Programs through the Program Operations team. This includes providing support and assistance to the Risk and Compliance Manager for processing legal decisions received from the Office of Administrative Courts to include Initial Decisions, Final Agency Orders, case dismissals and appeals as well as working with the Court of Appeals and the Office of the Attorney General. The position ensures oversight of the Address Confidentiality Program (ACP), maintaining the highest level of confidentiality for a very vulnerable population of licensees. The position coordinates and ensures completion of board and committee member training, working with the program directors when there are identified deficiencies. The position serves as the support for all boards and programs as it relates to pulling reports for data requests and coordinates with DWPS to verify data in the annual sunset data and workload statistics information.


Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Processing licensee and applicant requests for address confidentiality, which includes verifying acceptance into the state program and collecting the necessary documentation to approve individuals for the ACP; Revising the person's license contact information, and maintaining the confidential files; Tracking and processing advocacy matters, preparing documents for signatures, preparing and distributing Director Model Cases for review, scheduling stakeholder events and preparing related PowerPoint presentations ; Providing data support including pulling necessary reports from various databases and systems, such as eLicense, SharePoint and Torres; Processing Initial Decisions, drafting procedural orders, monitoring the exceptions process, and drafting Final Agency Orders in instances of default; Conducting Colorado Courts and disciplinary action checks for board membership applicants; Maintaining the Board member roster and files, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information, including appointment orders, term dates and contact information; Coordinating new board member orientation and annual ethics training for board members. Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MQs): Four (4) years of progressively responsible clerical or administrative service experience, performing all of the following functions: Demonstrated customer service experience dealing with various stakeholders; Demonstrated experience of working with databases and systems; Demonstrated experience compiling and analyzing data; Demonstrated experience working with highly confidential information; Demonstrated experience scheduling events and/or meetings; Demonstrated experience in editing/proofreading documents. SUBSTITUTIONS: An Associate's degree will substitute for two (2) years of the required experience; A Bachelor's degree will substitute for four (4) years of the required experience. Preferred Qualifications :
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience working with professional and occupational licensure statutes, policies and rules; Enforcement and/or compliance monitoring experience; Experience updating and utilizing licensing databases, including performing data entry; Experience working in a regulatory environment; Experience educating customers/consumers, including providing them with accurate, thorough, and easily-understandable information regarding their potential avenues for action and/or recourse; Experience and working knowledge of Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests; Experience working with boards or committees including cultivating working relationships with members; Experience managing projects, including developing new processes and identifying new methods to streamline existing work processes for efficiency and accuracy.
