A Carter Lumber Risk/Claims Administrator is responsible for assisting the Risk Manager in all aspects of business insurance and recommending the proper combination of risk retention and insurance. Responsible for reviewing damage claims including auto, general and product liability are handled in a timely and efficient manner. A working knowledge of company insurance, policies and procedures are all necessary to this position. Requirements Prior Risk/Claims/HR management and OSHA regulations are preferred. Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to analyze and solve problems in a fast-paced environment with time constraints. Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and policies within both the HR and Risk departments. Capacity to communicate clearly and convey information in an organized, credible, and concise fashion. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. Responsibilities General Liability Responsible for auto and general liability claims, from initial documentation to closure, including database maintenance, documentation, and organization. Act as the company's liaison on the proper handling of the claim, including supporting outside agencies. Workers Compensation Monitor third party claim management. Gather proper information from claims and provide necessary information to outside agencies. Employee Relations Distributes employment related communications to the store and acts as a liaison between locations and employees, should issues arise, to ensure the proper resolution. Risk & Claims Management Assisting the Risk Manager with company insurance risk levels for auto allowance, workers compensation claims, return to work programs, and other claim reviews. Conducts research and prepares a variety of statistical and administrative reports for management.
