Job summary
Resident Assistants (RAs) are employees of the Office of Residential Education and Housing.RAs are responsible for creating and maintaining safe and secure residential communities.RAs play a key role in creating environments that encourage academic and personal success.

Responsibilities
• Facilitate community development plan and engage in intentional conversations with residents• Maintain positive relationships with residents and staff• Respond to and manage crisis and emergency situations• Implement department and university initiatives• Create an inclusive environment• Support personal well-being of residents• Promote and participate in programming in the hall• Complete administrative tasks and document interactions• Confront policy violations and disruptive behavior• Communicate expectations and University policies to residents• Implement emergency response protocols• Refer students to support services• Provide duty and desk coverage• Attend meetings and training sessions
Requirements
• Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university• Must meet Academic Standing Requirements• Must meet minimal enrollment standards• Must be a current full-time OSU-Cascades student with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher• Must have lived in a residence hall or community living environment for at least two terms• Must demonstrate the ability to cultivate relationships and respond to conflict• Must demonstrate an understanding or open-mindedness to social justice• Must be able to complete administrative tasks in a timely manner• Must successfully complete a criminal history check
