Position Summary/Description: THIS IS A TIME - LIMITED POSITION WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 1 YEAR .
This position will require taking the primary responsibility for managing a large archive of 11,000 clinical samples and linked data bases for a joint study by investigators at UNC and a clinical site in Asia on human immunity to dengue virus and vaccines. Responsibilities include primary responsibility for organizing samples and linked databases, coordinating the transfer of samples and data between UNC , international and domestic collaborators, independently designing and executing experiments and analyzing results to compare antibody responses to dengue virus infections and vaccine, will also adapt and modify experiments based on the interpretation of data. The position will be expected to train and supervise students using the samples for research projects, managing the ordering of supplies and overseeing budgets for the laboratory, assisting UNC project PI with writing manuscripts and grant applications. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
