Overview: The Cancer Early Detection Advanced Research (CEDAR) center is a collaborative institution within the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. The Knight Cancer Institute, known as one of the pioneers in personalized cancer medicine, is an international leader in research and cancer treatment. You will be responsible for coordinating various clinical partner groups outside of CEDAR in their participation in the CEDAR repository. You will assist in training CEDAR Repository staff and ensure the quality of their work. Exceptional communication skills are essential to establish and maintain relationships with clinical partners and ensure their alignment with CEDAR goals. This role supports the use of clinical samples and data for basic science research by coordinating the activities of several groups outside of CEDAR.
You will be assist in the development and implementation of SOPs for the CEDAR Repository. You will be responsible for IRB modification management and compliance reviews for basic science research projects funded by CEDAR. You will collect and aggregate data and provide reports on operations within the repository. Phlebotomy certification is required to train repository staff and assure work on venipuncture, and to enable you to serve as back-up when additional effort for blood draws are needed.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Oversees all CEDAR Repository processes for acquisition of human biological specimens and associated data for use by basic science researchers Develop SOPs for work performed in partner clinics and within the CEDAR Repository Assure appropriate staffing, training, professional development Acts as a resource for basic scientists using human samples in research Master's in relevant field AND 1 year of relevant experience OR Equivalent combination of training and experience Experience with IRB modification management Experience with IRB review process Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at one time Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills: both written and verbal Ability to work independently and as part of a team while being collaborative in resolving problems Phlebotomy certification Apply online.
