Responsibilities
• Assist in the care and maintenance of cell lines• Work with pathogenic microorganisms• Perform molecular biology techniques• Support ongoing research projects• Train undergraduate and graduate students• Record data and maintain a laboratory notebook• Assist with administrative tasks• Contribute to work involving vertebrate animals
Requirements
• M.S. degree in a related field• Hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology and microbiology/immunology• Understanding of basic laboratory safety procedures• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Organizational skills with attention to detail• Ability to think critically and problem-solve• Ability to work well with colleagues from diverse backgrounds• Background knowledge in aseptic technique and molecular cloning• General use of standard lab equipment• Background knowledge on collecting scientific data and computer analysis
