Job Description.Cajal is seeking a Research Associate III, motivated by Cajal's mission to develop new medicines for patients suffering with neurodegenerative disorders. As a Research Associate III at Cajal, you will be part of and support the Drug Discovery group, tasked with rapidly inventing and advancing transformative therapies.ResponsibilitiesApply novel principles, theories and concepts within the below listed techniques to progress scientific experiments in collaboration with Scientific leadsIndependently follow standard protocols to conduct and interpret pharmacology experiments in cellular modelsTroubleshoot issues and propose solutions to Scientific lead to maintain progress toward experimental objectivesPerform RNA extraction, qPCR, protein extraction, protein assays, and associated data analysisPerform tissue culture of immortalized adherent cell lines, primary cells, and IPSCsConduct independent data analysis and prepare research summaries to clearly present results at internal company & team meetings Occasional weekend lab work may be requiredCollaborate with in vivo and in vitro pharmacologists within the Drug Discovery group and interact with cross-functional project teams to interpret and present key dataThis job might be great for you if you have:Have 3+ years of experience with standard molecular biology techniques; 4+ years of experience is preferredDemonstrated experience with and thorough knowledge of cell culture, transfection, and/or transduction of mammalian cellshave exposure to cell-based assayshave exposure to laboratory automationare detail-oriented and thrive in a highly collaborative, team-oriented startup environmentlove working in the lab, are organized, and take pride in your workhave a BA, BS, MS or equivalent degree in a biology-related field and relevant research lab-based experienceImportant ConsiderationsThis lab-focused position requires on-site availability on a daily basisAvailability for occasional weekend work is requiredThe annual base salary range for this role is $76,000-86,000**Final salary depends on qualifications, experience, and level of skills relevant to the role, along with location, where applicable.Company.Cajal is a team of people-first individuals, motivated by our shared mission to advance the field of neurodegeneration.
