Position Summary
The Michigan State University Social and Emotional Neurodevelopment (SEND) Laboratory explores the neurological underpinnings of neurodevelopmental disorders, particularly those in which disruptions to affect and reward can have detrimental effects. The lab combines techniques in basic science and clinical research to better understand the functional disruptions to behavior in young children. These techniques include remote eye-tracking and highly specialized behavioral software used to code young children at play in a variety of field and laboratory settings.
SEND seeks a postdoctoral researcher to work on an NIH-funded project to evaluate the impact of a Mediational Intervention for Sensitizing Caregivers -- a maternal training program -- on the long term mental health of Congolese children.

Required Degree
Doctorate -Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field
Minimum Requirements
Potential candidates must:
+ Possess a terminal (doctoral) degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field,
+ Have experience working with young children
+ Have strong technical, computational, data processing, and statistical skills
+ Be bilingual in English and French
Desired Qualifications
Candidates with the following qualifications are preferred:
+ Experience with eye-tracking methodology and analyses
+ Experience with computer programming, MATLAB, and statistical analysis and collection systems (R, SAS, or STATA)
+ A strong publication history and demonstrable interest in neurodevelopment
+ Strong communication skills
+ Experience working with a cross-cultural team
