JOB DESCRIPTION Department: Sales
Location: Durham
Reports to: Manager
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Perform daily customer service functions for the Sales department.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS None
BUSINESS COMMUNICATION Must be experienced and skilled in computer systems to include e-mail, spreadsheets, and website navigation.
SUPERVISION REQUIRED Daily
EDUCATION REQUIRED High School graduate with additional training in computer science or one-year equivalent work experience.
TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Have interpersonal skills in dealing with and communicating with customers, vendors, company divisions, co-workers, and management. Demonstrated website navigation skills, Familiar with organizing an Outlook inbox. Experience creating and organizing excel spreadsheets
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Two years experience in a related field, preferably within retail, customer service, or office environment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Processing incoming orders for the department and responding to customer requests and/or complaints. Maintaining customer database ensuring information is current. Track and issue credits for customer returns. Promote the website to potential customers calling in. Research web for descriptions and photos or products we sell. Assist the team with projects. Other duties as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a moderate office environment. The employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and use hands.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When in the Manufacturing area, hearing protection may be required depending on the department.
