Responsible for creating accounts in the Hospital Information SystemActs as gatekeeper to validate and verify demographic informationProvides high level of customer service

Responsibilities
• Answers telephones, relays messages, and screens visitors• Registers patients and obtains complete demographic and billing data• Obtains signatures on required documents• Checks online payors for eligibility on self-pay patients• Receives payments from patients, reconciles cash, and verifies balances• Maintains effective public relations with patients and physicians• Documents all activity in the Hospital Information System• Completes updates on patient demographic, financial, and compliance information• Communicates with patients in a professional manner• Receives constructive feedback from the Patient Access Supervisor
Requirements
• High school diploma or GED• Less than one year experience in clerical office or healthcare setting• One to two years customer service experience• Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills• Basic computer keyboard experience and ten key required
