Job Summary We are looking for individual to join our client's team as Registered Respiratory Therapist. You will work under the direction of a physician, provides all aspects of respiratory therapy to all ages. Provides consultation to physician staff, patient care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics patients with cardiopulmonary compromise or needs.
Job Description Provides clinical supervision, as assigned for Therapist, Technicians, Equipment Management staff. Assesses the workload daily. Assigns staff in accordance with their role and privileges. Ensures coverage of all patient care units. Provides direct patient care services as determined by staffing pattern. Assist in planning, development, and coordination of following activities: Performance Improvement. Inservice educational reviews for all team health care providers including physicians, nurses, aides, and students. Equipment management and Environment of Care activities. Management of Information. Provides patient care services according to physicians' prescription and care plan. Monitors daily: equipment and supply needs, medical gas and systems status, staffing, environment of care, patient care plans, COI/PI activities. Evaluates, investigates, and reports all incidents related to the provision of respiratory care services. Demonstrates competence in the provision of all aspects of respiratory care services. Provides clinical instruction and supervision for procedures associated with high risk. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Respiratory Care techniques and procedures. Manage the Cardio-Respiratory status of patients requiring continuous mechanical ventilation during transport. Assist in planning, development, and coordination of the department quality assurance program. Plans, develops, and coordinates in-service training programs related to the delivery of respiratory therapy. Assesses modalities of respiratory therapy, recommends changes and improvements appropriate to the delivery of respiratory care. Administers more difficult and complex physician prescribed treatments in a safe and effective manner. Recognizes safety hazards and initiates appropriate action to eliminate hazards and prevent recurrence. Provides clinical supervision in specialty care areas. May be assigned duties and responsibilities of immediate supervisor on a temporary basis. Skills Required 2 years' experience Adult and Peds general care, Adult and Peds critical care, Emergency Trauma Neonatal. Education/Training/Certifications Registration as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC), Valid license to practice as Respiratory Therapist issued by NYSED, BLS, Primary Source Verification required. ACLS, PALS, NRP for Intensive Care Nursery, Registered Pulmonary Function Tech certificate (RFPT) preferred. Associate degree (Community College, MBO) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) BLS (CPR) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Registered Respiratory Therapist Additional Requirements Adhere to company guidelines regarding COVID compliance. Malpractice Insurance - All Clinical workers are required to have active individual medical malpractice. All copy must be provided prior to start of assignment. All clinical workers licensed by the state of NY are required to provide.
