Responsibilities
• Provide first line supervision of nursing services• Assume responsibility for staffing and care of patients within a unit• Supervise and direct activities of subordinate nurses• Maintain patient care standards• Receive and transmit physician instructions• Oversee delegation of nursing procedures• Conduct patient rounds and assess physical conditions• Review nursing plan of care• Administer medications and perform medical tests• Provide specialized nursing care
Requirements
• Possess a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice professional nursing• Have three years of professional nursing experience• Baccalaureate degree in nursing or higher substitute for required experience• Doctorate in nursing or public health substitute for two years of experience• College hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university
