Job Description: As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration systems for our clients. Your expertise and knowledge will ensure the reliable and efficient operation of commercial refrigeration equipment. Responsibilities:
Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems, including walk-in coolers, freezers, ice machines, and refrigeration units. Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they escalate. Diagnose malfunctions in refrigeration systems using specialized tools and equipment. Replace or repair faulty components, such as compressors, condensers, valves, and motors. Maintain and repair refrigeration control systems, including thermostats, defrost timers, and electrical wiring. Handle refrigerants safely and in compliance with environmental regulations. Follow manufacturer specifications and industry standards to ensure accurate and efficient repairs. Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities, including parts used and work performed. Communicate effectively with clients to explain repair options, provide estimates, and address any questions or concerns. Collaborate with team members and supervisors to coordinate workflow and ensure timely completion of projects. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in refrigeration technology through ongoing training and professional development. Qualifications:
Military background preferred. Veterans with experience as a 91C (Refrigeration Specialist) are highly encouraged to apply. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Relevant technical training or certification in refrigeration or HVAC. Proven experience as a Refrigeration Mechanic, demonstrating a strong understanding of refrigeration systems and components. Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting refrigeration equipment using specialized tools. Knowledge of refrigeration control systems, electrical wiring, and safety protocols. Familiarity with refrigerant handling and EPA regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and customer service skills. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Working Conditions:
The Refrigeration Mechanic will primarily work at client sites, including commercial buildings, restaurants, and foodservice establishments. May be exposed to various weather conditions and tight spaces. Physical exertion, including lifting heavy equipment and working in awkward positions, may be required. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or overtime as needed.
