Responsibilities
• Provide direct support, coaching, mentoring, crisis intervention, advocacy, referrals, and life skills training to increase self-sufficiency• Encourage clients to identify and work toward goals that support their long-term permanency in the community• Embrace foundational underpinnings of Trauma-Informed Care, Harm Reduction, Positive Youth Development, and Motivational Interviewing• Coordinate and communicate effectively with the Supportive Housing team• Maintain timely and accurate client files• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to agency policies and procedures• Attend supervision, staff meetings, community meetings, or trainings as scheduled• Enhance program start-up and service delivery by performing other assigned duties
Requirements
• Completed the DMHAS Recovery Assistant Training or intend to complete the certification process within the first 6 months of hire• Possess at least a high school diploma or GED and a valid Connecticut Driver's License, proof of insurance, and access to reliable transportation• Lived experience with homelessness as a transition-age youth desired• Bilingual/Bicultural preferred• High level of personal accountability• Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills• Willingness to work collaboratively and independently• Solutions-based approach to problem-solving• Maintain strict confidentiality concerning client and employee information• Adhere to New Reach's Policies and Procedures
