At Wegmans, providing incredible customer service starts behind the scenes in departments such as Receiving. As a team member in this area, you will work closely with the Culinary Innovation Center employees as well as outside vendors, the Meat Depot and the Reclamation Center to coordinate activities and ensure products are delivered accurately. You'll support the incredible customer service our employees provide every day to getting products out on the shelves and available for customers to enjoy.
What will I do? Unload deliveries, break down pallets, put supplies away neatly and efficiently while following Simplification practices; ensure that proper slotting practices are used in accordance with our allergen policy Maintain the overall appearance and functionality of the dock and receiving area to ensure vendors are able to safely and efficiently make deliveries Communicate with appropriate personnel when orders are received and troubleshoot if any problems with orders arise Verify incoming deliveries; ensure quantity and types of products received are correct and meet specification, match purchase orders & complete receiving logs Check the quality of products delivered, ensuring there is no visible damage and temperature sensitive items come in according to specification; record the results on the receiving log and refuse delivery of products that do not meet Wegmans standards Create purchase orders and ship finished goods to the appropriate facility, supplying production areas with their ingredient and processing needs Utilize systems to support proper ordering and maintain proper inventory levels of ingredients, ingredient packaging and necessary supplies Proactively maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines, processes and regulations Maintain certifications for all material handling equipment and adhere to best practices when operating the equipment Complete daily inspections on all motorized material handling equipment and properly documents inspections Assist in general sanitation to maintain compliance with all Food and Human Safety policies Required Qualifications Receiving experience Customer service experience Preferred Qualifications Forklift experience Experience using any of the following systems/applications: ROSS, EAM, Google Docs, Safe Food 360 Food Manufacturing experience At Wegmans, we've long believed we can achieve our goals only if we first fulfill the needs of our people.
