We are pleased to be hiring a new teammate to strengthen our Real Time Gen-Desk Team at LCRA's Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE). We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join this team at our control room center in Austin TX. In this position you will become progressively responsible for real-time, same-day and hourly monitoring of our generation fleet, customer loads and responding to ERCOT needs and directives in real-time. You will have the opportunity to take the initiative to learn from senior team members and using ERCOT's extensive Learning Management program to enhance your knowledge and skill level. This role does require working a 12-hour rotating shift including weekends and holidays. All team members are required to take annual training and participate in ERCOT related training programs. Absolutely.You will be trusted to:- Submit energy and gas scheduling, understand power generation operations, LCRA's generation desk operating procedures, and of NERC and ERCOT operating guidelines, protocols, policies and procedures- Develop skills and understanding of generation management systems- Analyze and solve complex problems, have skills verbal and written communication, planning, scheduling, prioritizing and coordinating work within assigned work area, communicating effectively with team members, supervision / management and external organizations under normal and emergency conditions, articulating complex, technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences- Have skills in basic level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)- Have the ability to work in a team environment, balance competing and high priority work demands, and to remain alert to anticipate problems and quickly respond to problemsYou qualify with:- Four or more years of experience in control room operations, generation scheduling, system scheduling or other business critical operations or other relevant experience.
