** Job Summary **
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quality Manger to join our team at our facility in Colorado Springs, CO, 80907. As the Quality Manager (QM) you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of quality control throughout our manufacturing processes. The QM Will manage the activity of the quality assurance department and staff, developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization's products and/or development processes. The QM is the lead person responsible for all internal audits, external audits, supplier audits, and external certifications AS9100/ISO90001 and ITAR. This individual will be responsible for reporting monthly metrics such as non-conformance, sales rework percentages, DPPM, and cost of reworks to senior staff. This position reports to the President of the company.
** Supervisory Responsibilities: **
Hires and trains quality assurance staff Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the department Conducts performance evaluations. Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy ** Essential Functions **
Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 9001 quality systems. Acts as the organizational management representative for the registrar, external auditors, and others involved in the certification process. Works with vendors on meeting quality objectives and resolving vendor related quality issues. Retention of all records on inspections and other documentation as required by the customers and AS requirements. Primary point of contact for all external customer quality concerns, return requests, customer audit requests, customer quality questionnaires, etc. Develop and manage the internal audit schedule. Implement continuous improvement with methods such as Six Sigma Lean, 5S, value stream mapping, etc. Revise, review and approve Standard Operating Procedures, Support Documentation, Quality Assurance Forms, Quality Assurance plans, procedures, and other QMS-related documentation.
Interfaces directly with manufacturing staff to confirm requirements are being met.
Communicates with manufacturing engineers and programmers to resolve any non-conformities found during inspection.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
Document and manage Corrective and Preventive Actions using root-cause analysis methods such as 5-Why, 8D, fishbone diagram, pareto analysis etc.
Ensure proper inspection techniques and methods are used.
Suggests changes for improvement in prints, layouts, and other relevant documents.
Prior experience in a production sheet metal or machine shop inspecting complex parts helpful.
Familiar with sheet-metal, powder coat, and plating processes beneficial.
Familiar with Nadcap requirements
** Education and Experience **
Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or a minimum of 7 years or more of experience in quality management and compliance systems. High School diploma or GED may be combined with 10 years of experience in quality management and compliance systems plus 2 years of leadership experience. Six Sigma Lean background preferred. ** Required Skills/Abilities **

This position is in a manufacturing shop environment that is clean and fast paced. Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time may be required. Some exposure to noise and various types of equipment is typical.
