Quality Manager
Star Extruded Shapes Inc./Star Fab Inc. is a locally owned aluminum extrusion company with more than 40 years in business. We are looking to add a highly motivated Quality Manager to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our products and procedures through rigorous inspections, implementation of quality control measures, and identification of areas for improvement.
You will collaborate with cross functional teams to address quality issues, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to ensuring Star's products are high-quality to meet or exceed customer expectations.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering or quality assurance, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities:
Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are
Update our Quality Management System (QMS) with fixes and improvements
Prepare First Article Inspection and PPAP reports
Audit our systems based on ISO 9001:2015 requirements
Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures
Monitor the entire production cycle and perform regular tests to identify potential issues of nonconformance as early as possible
Identify the root cause of defects and recommend solutions
Prepare reports on nonconformances and corrective/preventive actions
Review current quality documentation for accuracy and suitability
Communicate with customers to ensure quality standards per Supplier Quality Requirements
Direct a team of Quality Technicians across multiple shifts
Work closely with internal teams to improve the quality of products supplied by Star
Requirements and Skills:
Previous work experience as a Quality Manager, Quality Engineer or similar role
Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
Familiarity with statistical analysis
Solid understanding of ISO9001:2015 and it's requirements
Be able to run ISO audits in teams, or individually
Certification in Quality Assurance or engineering a plus
Aluminum extrusion experience a plus
Lean or Six Sigma Certification a plus
