SUMMARY Supports assembly manufacturing through routine activities for the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing documentation. Compiles and evaluates quality data and assists in resolving product issues between customers, suppliers, and Business Development. Supports and drives corrective actions and prepares analyses and reports. Prepares documentation and implements new or revised procedures. Acts as a liaison with customers and suppliers. Develops and implements process controls. Recommends corrective action for product or process deficiencies. May participate in training of other staff members.
LOCATION This role will be based on-site at our Auburn Hills, MI facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Acts as a change agent and participant in continuous improvement activities towards customer focus, process planning and improvement, and employee empowerment
Plans, promotes, and participates in manufacturing support problem solving activities in meeting customer demands
Serve as an escalation path to clarify and mediate discussions relative to interpreting quality standards
Maintains and reviews Visual Aids
Maintains Control Plans and reviews Process FMEAs
Performs disposition of product MRB (Material Review Board), NCR (Nonconformance Reports), and QN (Quality Notification) events
Develops and maintains production documentation (i.e., purges, quality alerts, special instructions, deviations, risk assessments, etc.)
Participates in AQP (Advanced Quality Planning) and PLCM (Product Lifecycle Management) activities
Develops protocols (process qualification, engineering study, etc…) and resulting summary reports
Performs reporting and analysis of capability studies on critical processes
Performs required training to employees supporting production or qualification events
Conducts routine review and maintenance of documentation
Serves as primary owner for the Work Cells Supplier Interactions, Audits, (Customer, or Internal), and corrective and preventative actions (CAPA).
Supports continuous improvement by participating in daily CAC and (leading and/or contributing to) weekly QIC meetings
Performs reporting and trend analysis of defects occurring internally, at the customer, and supplier
Performs routine production line walks (GEMBAs) and manufacturing engagement
Serves as liaison between Jabil and suppliers and customers on quality issues and process / engineering change notifications
Participates in the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) engagement in support of customer, supplier, and Jabil-initiated changes
Participates in the site Lean Culture through the use of continuous improvement tools and methodologies
Participates in site's compliance to Quality Systems Regulations ISO 9001, ISO13485, ISO 14001, QSR Part 820 and TL9000
As appropriate, may be required to provide on-call support to resolve engineering related issues arising beyond normal business hours
As appropriate, may be required to participate as an auditee in internal, customer, and third-party audits for those processes and systems within their scope of influence
As appropriate, may be required to directly interface with customer, suppliers, and other local site departmental resources at all levels of these organizations
Maintain a clean and safe manufacturing area following 6s
Works safely at all times and complies with the Environmental Health and Safety standards and work practices along with all other work rules
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES ASQ Certification (CQE, CQA, CQT) desired
Advanced PC skills, with training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages desired
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced reading, writing, and math skills required
Strong knowledge of statistical methods and their application to a manufacturing process required
Strong analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills required
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, which includes being able to comfortably perform some core concepts as a QE ll at an execution level (core concept examples include c ontrol plan, FMEA, PPAP, protocol/report generation, etc.)
