Opportunity Lead the quality organization in engine assembly in areas of developing strong, reliable, repeatable control systems and procedures to meet Business and Brand goals and quality expectations.This includes developing strong teams through talent development, technical and analytical training, and building a multi-level team that can apply basic root cause and analysis tools to solve quality concerns in an urgent, organized, and effective manner.Will drive ownership of the quality control plans, active participant in all existing and new process changes or developments, along with reviewing all non-conforming products, customer concerns and issues, along with corrective action on customer return findings.
Specific Responsibilities Lead and Manage Quality projects and initiatives in engine assembly, including customer contact at multiple levels. Lead and mentor the Quality team in assembly in areas of talent development, technical training, skills matrix review, training of new systems and engines, and root cause and analysis to better identify and quickly resolve issues of moderate complication. Lead and understand MRB process, Cost of quality techniques and methodology Key problem-solving resource and leader of complex issues, demonstrating proficient knowledge and use of problem-solving tools. Lead and provide technical guidance to gaging systems, techniques, control plans, and out of spec conditions as encountered. Establish, review, and lead action on appropriate Quality tracking mechanisms within the operations area to drive improvement based on real time data. Utilize Quality data to communicate technical decisions, prioritize issues to be addressed, and lead cross-functional teams to establish true root cause and error proof preventive actions, and effective training of established procedures and plans. Establishes and leverages relationships with internal technical experts. Make appropriate decisions using Quality analysis tools and critical thinking including cost / impact analysis and customer impact. Lead the development, maintenance, and continued improvements of existing and new process control plans and inspection procedures and/or instructions. Provide input as part of a cross-functional team to develop and maintain Control Plan Provide input as part of a cross-functional team to develop PFMEA and Process flow charts. Research and implement new production and gaging technology to drive Quality improvements. Primary owner of the Quality sections of the internal Operation Certification process Represent operations relative to the change management process.Attend change board and spec revision meetings and be the voice of Operations. Ensure adherence to applicable product compliance requirements including but not limited to the Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations and California Health and Safety Code. Skills/Requirements Bachelor's degree in ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program. Technical Quality background, with six+ years of experience manufacturing operations working with Quality improvement methods. Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures recommended. Advanced degree or track record of high performance, complicated problem-solving and results with demonstrated competency. Must be assertive in preventive action activities. Ability to effectively communicate and interface with Operations and Customers. Strong written and oral communication skills Must be able to manage and drive change. Must be able to supervise, lead, motivate, and develop others. Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma Training or implementation Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future. The salary range for this position is $96,300 - $122,300. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
