Job Summary The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the products manufactured in the plant meet the required quality standards and specifications, thereby contributing to the success and competitiveness of the global automotive parts manufacturing company. Effective problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality excellence are essential for success in this role.
Their responsibilities typically revolve around implementing and maintaining quality control processes, conducting inspections, and testing, and resolving quality issues to ensure that the manufactured parts meet customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities · Quality Control Processes: responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control processes and procedures to ensure that all manufacturing activities comply with quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
· Inspections and Testing: conducts inspections and perform testing on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with quality standards and specifications. This may involve visual inspections, measurements, and functional testing using various testing equipment and tools.
· Statistical Process Control (SPC): They use statistical process control techniques to monitor and analyze production processes, identify trends, and detect deviations from quality standards. This helps in proactively addressing quality issues and preventing defects before they occur.
· Root Cause Analysis: When quality issues arise, the Quality Engineer leads root cause analysis efforts to identify the underlying causes of defects or non-conformities. They work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective and preventive actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence.
· Quality Improvement Initiatives: They drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes. This may involve implementing lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other quality improvement tools and techniques.
· Supplier Quality Management: They work closely with suppliers to ensure that raw materials and components meet the required quality standards. This may involve conducting supplier audits, monitoring supplier performance, and collaborating on quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of incoming materials.
· Documentation and Reporting: The Quality Engineer maintains accurate documentation of quality-related activities, including inspection reports, test results, non-conformance reports, and corrective action plans. They generate quality metrics, analyze data, and prepare reports to monitor quality performance and identify trends or areas for improvement.
· Training and Development: They provide training and support to production personnel to ensure that they understand and adhere to quality control processes and procedures. They may also provide training on quality tools and techniques to enhance the quality awareness and skills of employees.
· Customer Satisfaction: The Quality Engineer plays a key role in ensuring customer satisfaction by ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations for quality, reliability, and performance. They work closely with customers to address quality concerns and implement corrective actions as needed.
Job Qualifications and Skills: A bachelors degree in engineering is usually required. Prior Experience: several years of experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a related field, preferably in the automotive industry or automotive parts manufacturing. Automotive Industry Experience: Experience working in the automotive industry provides valuable insights into industry-specific quality requirements, standards, and best practices. Manufacturing Experience: Experience with manufacturing processes, production systems, and quality control methods used in automotive parts manufacturing is highly beneficial. Project Management Experience: Experience managing projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering results within budget and timeline constraints is desirable Knowledge of Quality Management Systems: Understanding of quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001 and automotive-specific standards like IATF 16949. Familiarity with quality tools and methodologies like APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans. Statistical Analysis Problem Solving Communication Quality Tools and Techniques Computer skills: Minitab or JMP; Microsoft Office
