This is a quality assurance position accountable for quality assurance and testing of moderately complex systems. Provides input to the design and development of test scripts and the adaptation of testing scripts from source manufacturers. Coordinates the timing of releases and executes release management processes. Conducts pre-and post-implementation testing, creates test plans, and conducts defect tracking. Gains an understanding of user requirements and reviews requirement specifications. Coordinates user acceptance by the specifications established. Conducts load testing and regression testing. Liaises with other information technology (IT) functions and vendors to ensure that effective quality assurance processes are maintained and utilized.

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting the Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS).

Business Analysis duties are required in this role, but more directly in the context of maintenance & to meet those requirements by eliciting and documenting business and functional requirements but not for the outset of a project. Test complicated systems to reduce or eliminate defects before product roll out. Requires an understanding of requirements, both the user and technical requirements, and an ability to build test scenarios and test scripts. Requires core competencies, such as critical thinking, analytical thinking, problem-solving, SQL skills, and testing techniques. Types of testing may include testing integrations, functional business requirements, mobile requirements, browser compatibility, ADA compliance, security, data conversions, business rules, performance, regression, and more. Coordinates User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business subject matter experts and Release Planning. These tasks require core competencies of communication skills, relationship building, and business knowledge. Coordinate defect tracking and associated communication about the defects. Requires skills with tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO) or other similar tracking tools. Also requires core competencies of organizational skills and communication skills.
Coordinate with the OA Contracting Team, the DHSS/ITSD Contract renewals annually, and new contracts as they arise. All you need for success: Quality assurance tools and techniques, SQL skills, ADO skills, ability to create test scripts, strong understanding of relational database, ability to identify and evaluate testing results. Ability to determine if there is a defect vs an enhancement and coordinate the fix of that defect. Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate's name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. Knowledge of test script development. Ability to gather and interpret data. Ability to conduct load and regression testing and evaluate results.
