Position: Quality Assurance Superintendent

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Food Science and Technology, Food Engineering, or related. 1 year of experience as a QA Superintendent, Production Supervisor/Trainee, or related. Experience must include: Assisted in re-formatting the HACCP plan of the fully cooked facility, to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and customer expectations; Utilizing food safety principles to improve quality policies and procedures; Utilize engineering controls to diminish costs by participating in an inventory management project; Complete daily production plans through engineering skills to increase efficiency.
Duties: Meet and exceed quality and food safety goals set forth by plant management by leveraging advanced engineering skillsets; Coordinate the activities of the Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) team for the implementation of quality and food safety programs (HACCP and SSOP) and procedures; Conduct investigations of plant Quality Assurance and Food Safety processes and suggest process improvement projects and tasks to be completed; Participate in Operational Excellence project, meeting project team no less than twice per year; Look for continuous improvement in operating processes and procedures and encourage ownership of all processes; Conduct microbial R&D testing; Responsible for minimizing customer claims through engineering controls; Monitor product and procedures to assure company, customer, and government specifications are met or surpassed and take corrective action; Coordinate and oversee pre-operation sanitation, examining and verifying the cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and facilities daily; Improve safety by identifying hazards and problem shooting solutions; Manage labor to a zero budget; Proactively looks for ways to reduce costs through the elimination of foreign material; Complete daily production plans; accomplishing work results; prioritizing; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results on end of shift production summaries; Ensure food safety, human resources, and safety policies compliance; Resolve problems and issues with products as they arise; Communicate frequently with USDA inspectors regarding products, safety, etc.; Ensure compliance with the HACCP plan for all products; Establish and maintain shelf-life requirements, finished product specifications, leaker testing, formulation weights, temperatures, and other necessary standards; Direct, motivate, and monitor quality assurance; Conduct sampling of finished products and raw materials for bacteria; Monitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production; Ensure completion of all QA duties; Test new equipment for quality aspects. May supervise First-Line Supervisors of Production and Operating Workers and Production Workers, All Other.
