The Quality Assurance Engineer is a vital role within the IT Center of Excellence and holds responsibility to ensure excellence in the quality and reliability of Clarity's products.  The QA Engineer utilizes a systematic testing approach designed to guarantee established requirements through varied products' lifecycle. Effective performance in the role requires both manual and automated testing, with the objective to increase the ratio of automated testing over time. The role reports to the Senior Director, IT Resource Management, and additionally takes direction from QA Workstream Leads. Essential Functions Develops comprehensive test plans based on Business Requirements (not limited to test set-ups, support for manual testers, timely report outs on results). Reviews architecture diagrams, specifications, and plans and evaluates the gaps and risks based on product and service requirements. Builds and utilizes test tools to evaluate. Database security, performance, continuity, and content. File transfer, rendering, and management. Interface security, performance, content, and conformance. Provides and recommends methods to rapidly build and deploy test modules, harnesses, and frameworks to handle multiple deployment and implementation models. Creates accurate test file/data necessary to validate the product(s) being tested. Creates testing harnesses, stubs, and sequencers. Creates technical evaluation methods. Automates environment management. Implements data integrity methods. Provides testing for defect resolution and architectural solutions. Automates system maintenance for the test environment, data loading, and data cleansing functions. Document, review, and track identified defects through resolution. Execute data loads and configurations for various testing processes. Identify and document all defects within a tracking system. Provide knowledge transfer and collaborate with other departments for production transition. Support internal User Acceptance Testing. Help troubleshoot issues and other duties as assigned. Education Required BA/BS Degree in STEM fields or equivalent work experience. Knowledge & Experience A minimum of 3-5 years experience as a QA engineer or QA Analyst with applicable technical skills. Demonstrated knowledge of Regression Testing requirements. Ability to write SQL queries and perform data loads to support test scenarios. Familiarity with testing web-based application across multiple browser platforms. Familiarity completing work in Linux environment. Familiarity with APIs. Working knowledge of test inventory management tool. Java proficiency. High proficiency in gap and risk-based analysis as related to the role (database security, performance, continuity, etc.). Ability to evaluate file transfer, rendering, and management. Ability to evaluate interface security, performance, content, and conformance. Ability to rapidly build and deploy test modules, harnesses, and frameworks to handle multiple deployment and implementation models. Participate in the documentation and execution of manual and automated test plans and procedures. Strong organizational and prioritization skills in accordance with deadlines and deliverables. Ability to think critically and troubleshoot technical issues. Preferred Knowledge & Experience Familiarity creating and running automated tests using Allure Report, Linux command line, Selenium, TestNG/Junit, Mockito, and Postman preferred.
