American Aluminum Extrusion is seeking a Quality Technician! Our mission is to provide superior quality aluminum extrusions, fabrications, and outstanding individualized customer service, based on value strong, long-term business relationships.
American Aluminum offers a competitive wage and benefits package GENERAL DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for Quality Management System (QMS) compliance. Manage all company-wide, quality policies, procedures, processes, programs, and practices, to assure the company of continuous conformance with appropriate standards and regulations. The Quality Manager will also be responsible for all document retention and will function as a liaison between the customers' expectations and the internal customer satisfaction metrics such as PPM. The Quality Manager is also responsible for training the employees on quality methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma Initiatives to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of the continuous improvement teams and their goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Devising and establishing a company's quality procedures, standards, and specifications. Reviewing customer requirements and ensuring that they are met. Consulting with customers' auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customers' specifications. Establish quality requirements from external suppliers. Setting standards for quality as well as a road map to accomplish those standards Making sure that manufacturing or production processes meet international and national standards. Defining quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff. Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation procedures. Monitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports. Preparing clear explanatory documents such as Internal scrap rates, customer satisfaction reports and total plant recovery. Ensuring all pack and rack specs are in place and accurate to ensure the customer satisfaction. Reviewing and tolerancing prints when necessary or appropriate Calibration of tooling and fixturing Ensuring all equipment that needs external certification by a qualified third parts company is completed. Maintaining and ordering new tooling and measuring equipment Maintaining and updating the Quality Manual Maintaining and upholding shareholder value by driving continuous improvement initiatives Identifying relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training. Manage and maintain the Company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming and in-process materials and components, processes and finished goods. Setting QA compliance objectives and ensuring that targets are met. Any other task or duty as assigned or required. REQUIRED SKILLS Ability to read blueprints Ability to use and train others on how to use measuring equipment Ability to use Microsoft Office Ability to create charts based on data collection Ability to communicate professionally Ability to develop and implement training procedures Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives Ability to create and lead teams Ability to translate customer expectation into process metrics Ability to apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies Ability to operate forklift Ability to use overhead cranes EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or equivalent Two-year degree in quality or business-related field is desired but not essential Lean and or Six Sigma training from qualified entity PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Exposure to all types of temperatures. Physical ability to do work requiring frequent stooping, bending, lifting and reaching overhead. Physical strength sufficient to move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Sufficient manual dexterity required to perform job properly. High degree of attention and care required to operate in a safe manner. Appropriate safety equipment is necessary. Travel required on occasion Overtime hours required Join us!
