Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Patrol assigned areas and assist university visitors, students, and employees• Question and report suspicious individuals• Monitor and report safety hazards• Investigate and report criminal offenses• Respond to fire and security alarms• Provide support to public safety agencies and dignitaries• Provide initial emergency medical care• Assist during major investigations or events• Investigate vehicle accidents and enforce traffic regulations• Provide field training for junior officers
Requirements
• Must be at least 21 years old• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of relevant experience• Valid Missouri or Illinois driver's license• Pass background check, psychological exam, and drug screening• Possess and maintain an armed private security officer license
Key Skills Needed
• Interpersonal/human relations skills• Verbal and written communication skills• Physical and psychological fitness• Ability to respond to emergency situations• Ability to work varying shifts and overtime• Ability to complete annual in-service training
