Job summary
Kimley-Horn is looking for an Experienced Public Involvement Specialist in the Salt Lake City, UT office!Conduct research and gather information for multiple projects.Produce and maintain various stakeholder databases.
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Set up project contact information using approved branding and style.• Distribute information to stakeholders—via telephone, email, and in person.• Monitor and prepare responses to public inquiries.• Create tactical media—including email, fliers, press releases, presentations, newsletters, and announcements.• Create, edit and produce public involvement documents and social media content.• Support the development and facilitation of events.• Record meeting minutes and distribute summaries of action items.• Develop reports, documents, and spreadsheets using Microsoft Suite applications.• Balance and manage multiple tasks and priorities with ease.• Perform other duties as assigned to support the KHA Communications Team.
Requirements
• 5+ years of experience in communications and/or outreach with infrastructure, transportation, or other complex projects• Bachelors or Master Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Affairs, Planning, Government Relations, or related field• Exceptional command of English, with excellent written/oral communication and proofing skills.• Experience writing for multiple audiences and presenting technical concepts in a clear and concise structure.• Excellent people skills include communicating, listening, and summarizing information, documenting interactions, and problem-solving or reducing conflicts.• Customer service mindset.• Ability to interface with a variety of clients and the public.• Experience with the development and implementation of public outreach and or communications plans.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.• Flexibility to periodically work outside regular working hours and travel, as required for business needs.• Must have a valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and insurance (we reimburse mileage).
